watercolors and being helpful

oh look at them looking. Their eyes meeting the world.
- William Carlos Williams

In preparation for our upcoming ART SHOW (MAY 31st 6-7:30) the preK class has been working on pictures of "a beautiful day."

The compositions began last week with pen and oil pastel drawings, they depict things like "Alligators diving into the water at the beach" and "Ms. Chinsner and the butterflies"... and of course some flowers and sunshines and rainbows.

This week, we revisited the pictures and added some water colors. Some really beautiful pictures were made and we had the good experience of working on a picture thoughtfully, overtime.

This is the dark house, but the sun is going to come. I make that next.

Some girls painting flowers!

This is my Mama's house and these are the hands that the house have... to help her do things like clean it up.

Gettin some good color... you go round and round because then the color is gooder... more red.

Ima paint inside MY lines...

splash yo brush in the cup when you need to make a new color.

when you spill some paint water you should clean it up.... I'll help you.

And helping out feels pretty good.
